As per The Scheduled Castes and Tribes – Prevention of atrocities Act committee is established under Scheduled Caste and the Scheduled Tributes (prevention of Atrocities) Act. 1989, No.33 of 1989, Dated 11.09.1989) and to comply with AICTE regulations for the establishment of the Committee for SC/ST (as per the Scheduled Caste and the Scheduled Tribes (prevention of Atrocities) act, 1989, No.33 of 1989, 11/09/1989) committee is constituted for Nalanda Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar.

The Function of Committee is:

· To counsel and guide SC/ ST students and help them to manage academic and personal issues if any.

· Monitor timely disbursal of e-grants to the beneficiaries.

· To inform the SC/ST students regarding various scholarships / program of State Govt. and UGC.

· Function as a Grievances Redressal Cell for the grievances of SC/ST students of the college and render them necessary help in solving their academic as well as administrative problems.

· To ensure the Prevention of Atrocities on the SC/ST students.
